Hoffmann Dovetail Router Bit W2 HM 6mm

These oversized bits produce a slightly larger keyway slot compared to our standard dovetail bits and are used only in special applications, for example on very thin material standing on edge (shadow box picture frames, etc.) The larger slot lowers the lateral (sideways) pressure of the Dovetail Keys, reducing the chance to split the thin material when the Key is inserted. These bits should only be used in application where standard bits do not produce the desired results; using these bits with average sized material can result in reduced joint strength.

The bits are made in Germany to exacting specifications and subject to rigorous inspections during manufacturing. We guarantee our bits to produce perfectly sized dovetail slots for the corresponding Dovetail Keys.

Average tooling life for these bits is approx.10,000 cuts and often much more (varies depending on type of material, length of dovetail slot and router feed rate).
These bits have 6mm shanks and fit all MS-series Double Miter Saws - please see part number W2016352 for the same bits with 1/4" shanks for most Hoffmann dovetail routing machine models.

Chip Breakers:
Standard square chip breaker is not included with these bits - please refer to MS and MX-series double miter saw accessories for available table inserts instead.
