Festool's plunge saw is the Swedish carpenter's favourite machine for one simple reason: a guide rail FS/2 turns any Festool TS model into a precision crosscut saw capable of 1/10 mm tolerance across a 2.4 metre cut. But which should you buy — corded (TS 55 F), cordless (TSC 55 K) or the larger newer TS 60 K? This guide walks through all three with verified specs from Festool's official data sheets, when each model is the right choice, and what the price gap actually is in Sweden in 2026.

When to choose the TS 55 F (corded)
- Stationary workshop work where 230 V is always available — no risk of a flat battery mid-cut
- Long sawing sessions in solid oak or 18–22 mm birch plywood — constant power without voltage drop
- You do not already have an 18 V platform — avoids spending 4,000–5,000 SEK on batteries/chargers
- Budget is the priority — the corded version sits around 3,000–5,000 SEK below the cordless package
- Kitchen fitter or floor layer working indoors with an established power outlet and CT extractor via Plug-it
When to choose the TSC 55 K (cordless)
- New-build, roof framing, outdoor jobs where running cables is awkward or risky
- Already on the 18 V system (TID 18, TPC 18, OSC 18, Carvex) — batteries and chargers are shared
- KickbackStop is valuable — standard on the TSC 55, stops the blade within milliseconds on kickback
- Bluetooth integration with the CT extractor — the battery starts the dust extractor automatically without an extra cable
- Mobile site work (decking, garden rooms) where 2× 5.2 Ah lasts a normal working day according to Festool's test data
When to choose the TS 60 K (newer, larger corded version)
- Thicker material — 62 mm cutting depth vs 55 mm = 7 mm more, which covers solid 60 mm structural timber without a flip cut
- Crosscut work — the TS 60 K is the only model that also supports the FSK crosscut rail (FSK 420/670) in addition to the standard FS/2
- Slightly finer control — brushless EC-TEC motor even on the corded version, 3,000–6,800 rpm variable
- Newer standard — launched in 2022, the latest Festool technology (KickbackStop, Systainer³ integration)
Guide rails — the same across all three
Good news: the FS/2 guide rails (FS 800, 1400, 1900, 2400, 3000) are shared across all three models. If you already have rails for the TS 55 they work directly with the TSC 55 K and TS 60 K. No extra investment.
The TS 60 K additionally supports the FSK crosscut rail (FSK 420/670), which provides crosscut functionality with a stop edge — a Festool-exclusive touch for on-site joinery.
Dust extraction — identical on all
All three use a 27/36 mm CT hose (the same as the rest of the Festool range). Dust capture of ~95 % on rip cuts in plywood with correct settings (from our own measurements in the workshop).
The TSC 55 K additionally has Bluetooth integration: the battery sends a start signal to the CT extractor's Bluetooth module without you connecting a Plug-it cable. Handy on mobile jobs where you only want to hold the hose + saw without cable management.
Prices in Sweden (April 2026)
Prices vary by retailer — the figures below are typical list prices including VAT:
- TS 55 FEBQ-Plus (576703): ~7,000–9,850 SEK (average ~8,700 SEK)
- TS 55 FEBQ-Plus-FS (with FS 1400/2 rail): ~8,900–10,900 SEK
- TSC 55 KEBI-Plus/XL (577342) with 2× 5.2 Ah + TCL 6 DUO: ~11,840 SEK list price festool.se
- TSC 55 KEBI-Plus/XL-FS (577391) including rail: ~13,000–14,000 SEK
- TS 60 KEBQ-Plus (576721): around 8,500–10,500 SEK (positioned between the TS 55 F and TSC 55 K)
Cashback status April 2026: Festool's SYS-PowerStation cashback (5,800 SEK) and the free-battery campaign ran from 2024 to spring 2025 and have ended. Current spring 2026 campaign — check festool.se/kampanjer before ordering; campaigns may change month to month.
System decision — if you already own Festool
- Battery: the TSC 55 uses 2× BP 18 Li (standard 18 V). Shares the platform with the Kapex KSC 60, HKC 55, Carvex jigsaw, T 18/TID 18 and every other 18 V tool. Bluetooth batteries (ASI suffix) trigger the CT extractor automatically.
- Systainer: the TS 55 F and TS 60 K ship in the SYS3 M 337; the TSC 55 K in the SYS3 M 437 (deeper for batteries). All stack in the Systainer³ system.
- Rails: reuse existing FS/2. Nothing needs to be repurchased.
- Dust extraction: the 27/36 mm CT hose works with all CT dust extractors.
Recommendation — the short answer
- Already own Festool 18 V and work mobile → TSC 55 K
- Stationary workshop, limited budget → TS 55 F
- Working with 60 mm+ timber or need crosscut functionality → TS 60 K
- Construction firm with mixed needs → TS 60 K if investing fresh (most flexible), TSC 55 K if you already have the battery platform
Accessories shared by all three
- FS/2 guide rails (FS 800, 1400, 1900, 2400, 3000)
- Anti-kickback stops (FS-RSP)
- Extension piece (FS-RV)
- Clamping screws (FS-SP)
- HW WD42 blades in 160 mm (TS 55) / 168 mm (TS 60)
- CT dust extractors (CTL MIDI, CT 26, CT 36)
- Systainer³ SYS3 M series
Cashback — keep an eye out year-round
Festool runs campaigns year-round, but the offers shift. We keep the festool-cashback-2026 guide updated with current deals. During battery-bundle campaigns the TSC 55 K can become significantly better value; with direct discounts on the machine, the TS 55 F benefits relatively more.

Vanliga frågor
Are the TS 55 F and TSC 55 K the same machine?
They share the same cutting depth (0–55 mm at 90°, 43 mm at 45°) and use the same 160 mm blade, guide rails (FS/2) and CT dust extractor hoses. The difference lies in the power source: the TS 55 F is the corded version with a 1,200 W AC motor, the TSC 55 K is the cordless version with a 2× 18 V EC-TEC brushless motor. Both weigh ~4.65–4.80 kg.
Is the TS 60 K available in Sweden?
Yes, the Festool TS 60 K (article 576721) has been available in Sweden since October 2022. It has a 168 mm blade and delivers a 62 mm cutting depth at 90° — 7 mm more than the TS 55. It uses the same FS/2 guide rails as the TS 55/TSC 55 and also supports the FSK crosscut rail.
Which should I choose if I already own Festool 18 V batteries?
Then the TSC 55 K is the simpler choice — batteries, charger and Bluetooth system are shared with the rest of your Festool 18 V kit (TID 18 impact driver, Carvex jigsaw, HKC 55 etc.). You reuse the guide rails as well. The only extra cost is the machine itself.
Does KickbackStop actually work?
According to Festool's own testing, KickbackStop stops the blade within milliseconds if the sensor detects kickback. It comes as standard on the TSC 55 K and TS 60 K and can be deactivated per cut (the user decides). It does not replace correct sawing technique, but it reduces the risk of injury from unexpected kickback.
Which blade is included?
All three ship with a 160 mm (TS 55) or 168 mm (TS 60) HW WD42 blade — a universal blade with 42 teeth that handles both solid timber and plywood. For fine joinery a 48-tooth blade can give cleaner cuts; for framing timber a 28-tooth blade is sufficient.
